Carefree Chuck Connor is on his way out West and stops to see an old friend and his four children. When his host is killed in a riding accident, "Uncle Chuck" feels a duty to look after the kids. He takes a job on Jess Higgins' ranch, but he has to conceal his new family from his child-hating employer. Soon, complications arise when a neighboring ranch accuses Jess of cattle rustling.
