Michael Burgess is a college professor caught in a whirlwind of chaos when a Hollywood film crew arrives in his small town to shoot a movie based on his best-selling historical novel. He becomes increasingly frustrated as the filmmakers, led by a self-absorbed director, distort the story for commercial purposes, and to make matters worse, he develops a romantic interest in the lead actress.
