Treated poorly by the team's owner, Negro League baseball pitcher Bingo Long quits and forms his own lineup of barnstorming superstars who dream of playing in the majors. Boycotted by black teams, the traveling all-stars play minor league white teams, earning more attention as entertainers than as players…but a winning season just might change everything.
