"Making of the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride" Featurette

Alongside watching all the Fast movies, you can now live them! In the “Making of Featurettes” section in our Furious 7 behind-the-scenes content, you can learn all about the inception and creation of the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride at Universal Studios, Hollywood in “Making of the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride.”.

Being the adventure that it is, Fast & Furious couldn’t be better suited to having its own theme park ride. Really, what else could you ask for in an exciting experience?

Furious 7 - Michelle Rodriguez

Plus, as star Michelle Rodriguez reasons, “If there’s any reason that the Fast & Furious franchise lends itself to becoming a ride, it’s because it’s always trying to top its action.” And now, you can find yourself right in the middle of that same action.

Watching any of the Fast & Furious films, including Furious 7, you’re guaranteed to feel a sense of adrenaline pumping throughout your body — a sense of excitement and raw energy. The experience of watching a movie in the Fast & Furious franchise is almost like an amusement ride in itself. However, sometimes, that’s just not enough. Maybe you’re really feeling the need to get into the center of the action. That’s exactly why the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride was brought to life.

Most theme park rides, particularly those tied to franchises, tend to stem from the fantastical. That’s what makes the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride so unique, and so immersive for guests. There’s far less of a leap between the real world and the Fast & Furious universe. Through this ride, you’re really going to feel like you’ve entered the world of Fast & Furious. And for fans of the franchise, well… this can be a priceless experience.

Universal Studios has found itself in a new era of immersive attractions, which Fast & Furious, including its cast and crew alike, are honored and excited to be a part of. Plus, through collaborating directly with the film’s cast, the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride has created the most authentic experience possible. The goal is to have riders feeling as if they’ve ridden right into an actual scene in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Furious 7 - Vin Diesel

As those on set will admit… shooting a film for a ride? No doubt, it’s far different from shooting a conventional, big screen-ready film. For one, there’s a sense of building a much bigger experience. They’re not shooting so that an audience can later enjoy the film on a screen. In creating the Fast and Furious Supercharged Ride, shooting is done with the intention of creating a livable, immersive experience, which the audience is able to take part in.

Collaborating with the Moving Picture Company, as in the original Fast & Furious movies, further ensures the most authentic visual experience. The action, the visual effects — they’re all there.

And at the end of that day… there really isn’t anything cooler than being “immortalized in a ride.” (According to Vin Diesel, himself.)
